This is the best spring-loaded microphone arm, holder or stand we have ever used. The microphone easily moves in front of your mouth when you wish to dictate.
The balanced spring microphone arm comes with an embedded XLR to XLR cable and we include a 3.5mm adapter totaling 15 feet to connect directly to a computer sound card or USB sound pod.
The arm comes with a 2" C-Clamp to easily attach to the lip of your desk. The arm extends to 36" and accepts the standard 5/8" - 27 thread of microphone holders or clips. A little tug on the arm easily swings the microphone in front of the face for dictation. When finished dictation, a little push gets it out of the way. This arm is easily adjustable to suit handheld microphones of different weights.
Comments: If you are using a USB microphone such as the Samson Q1U, you can simply use some wire cutters or heavy duty scissors to cut off one end and remove the embedded XLR cable.
